Prevailing has developed a unique performance tracking service that supplies retrospective monthly budget data sensitive to each month’s wind resource. Expected wind farm yield is computed using a simulation of the project, even where complex constraint schemes are in force. Comparison of actual performance to this monthly budget allows rapid identification of performance changes and problems.
The service is completely independent of the wind farm SCADA system. Correlation quality with actual production is typically well in excess of 0.95, allowing early identification of problem projects.
It is a light-weight, low cost service, allowing implementation portfolio-wide. The supplied data acts as an early warning system, directing wind farm operators to under-performing assets.
